Visiting Fellow at 2005 Iowa International Writing Program, University of Iowa. Invited to this three-month residency along with 30 writers from around the world. Activities included:

- Lecture “Inheriting English” for a graduate class, “International Literature Today” at the University of Iowa. (24 October 2005.)
- Three poems, “When? Soon, “War is A Place,” and “A Clock…” choreographed by Maggie Conroy, performed by Judith Moesner and Angie Hayes for Global Express. Performed on 15 October 2005, Iowa City.

- Poetry reading at “International Day of Poetry for Peace.” Shambaugh Auditorium, Iowa City. (5 November 2005.)

The University of Iowa International Programs 2006 Writer-in-Residence Fellowship. A three-month writing residency in Spring 2006, which entailed traveling within Iowa State twice a week to give readings, talks, and workshops at K-12 schools.
- K-12 schools included: Wood Intermediate (Davenport), Ames Middle School (Ames), Johnston Middle School (Johnston), Valley High School (Des Moines), Lucas School (Iowa City), Oaknoll Retirement Residence (Iowa City), Sudlow Intermediate (Davenport), Hiawatha Public Library (Hiawatha), Lincoln School, Marshaltown High School, Spencer High School.
